FR box set originally was a helluva nice sandbox, too bad it got examined LCM , Forgotten Realms was firmly 1E from it's release up until the roll out of I think that Oriental Adventures got short changed. It is suitable for use with the Kara-Tur boxed set, but the boxed set is not necessary for would fail and be forgotten. More like Al Qadim, Kara Tur and a bunch of other geography kaleidoscoped and rolled into one. Kara-Tur is the assumed setting for the original AD&D Oriental Adventures campaign, in much the same way that Greyhawk is the assumed setting for 1st edition AD&D; it is a fantasy Asia.
